It takes place in the small country towns of Surat & Yuleba and along the dusty track in between.

Cobb & Co Festival - Australia’s Last Run 16 – 25 August 2024
Cobb & Co Festival 2024
Come to the Maranoa to celebrate the last run of the Cobb & Co Coach service in Australia along the Cobb & Co Way. 2024 is the 100th anniversary of the coach service’s final run in 1924.
Book a seat on the horse-drawn coach for a section of the historic route, bring a horse and team up with the trail ride, or join the celebration in event transport – this family friendly event retraces the 76 km route of Cobb & Co Mail Service No. 177.
The celebration begins on Saturday 17th August 2024 with activities around the Maranoa. See the action at the southern hemisphere’s largest cattle saleyards in Roma, dip a toe in the great artesian spa in Mitchell, explore Injune and find other hidden treasures throughout the shire.
On Saturday morning eat at the Surat Riverside Markets and watch the coach begin its journey with the collection of the Royal Mail at Surat Post Office before setting off on the historic track.
Book a ticket for an entertaining lunch where you will see the coach carry out the classic changing station routine – passengers disembark for lunch, horse teams are changed, and off they go again.
On Sunday 25th August 2024, the coach and trail riders resume their journey to Yuleba Post Office where the Royal Mail is finally delivered.
Come along in period dress and join us in this unique celebration of Australia’s history.
